Nobody can tell us about the origins of friendship, nobody knows how it appears and when it disappears. But it is possible to define the base of friendship and relations between two friends.
Love is an extraordinary feeling that helps people and unites them. They say it is the strongest power in the world that may kill a person and at the same time restore him/her.
Love is the feeling that gives the aim in life and turns enemies into friends. All positive phenomena are based on love. And friendship is not an exception from the rule. There are several kinds of love and friends feel special love. This love unites people and is very similar to love of relatives. Friends feel special affection to each other. So they start to spend time together, communicate with each other, trust each other.
Friendship is also based on respect. Respect is also a base for all human relations. It should be always present and even enemies and competitors should treat each other with respect and understanding. Respect is relations to the others based on recognition of qualities, abilities and achievements of a person. It makes people treat each other in a certain way and maintain good and positive relations. But if you respect a person it doesn't mean you are his/her friend. You may feel respect to your teachers, doctors, parents and others. For example you may respect a singer or politician whom you began to respect thanks to his/her deeds.
Trust is one of the most important things in all kinds of relations between people and it is one of the most important things among friends. There are a few people to whom you trust and who trust you. It is very difficult to find someone to whom you may trust and on whom you may rely on. And if you were betrayed once by a person you trusted to, it is very difficult to begin to trust again.
Sometimes friends are the only people to whom we can talk to, whom we may tell about all our problems, secrets. Sometimes they are the only people to whom we come to get a piece of advice.
If a person doesn't have parents and relatives, friends are the only people in the world that will worry about this person and to whom a person may turn for love, compassion and understanding.
Devotion is one of the greatest qualities. It makes friendship strong. A devoted friend will always help you and will be a support for you in psychological and material way. But it is very complicated to find devoted friend, because it is a trait that doesn't appear at once. But people need time to get this quality.
A true friend will always help you to experiment and find the way out and will always help you to make the right choice, a friend will always support you in any your decision.
